Meet Rachael Martin
Rachael Martin, President of the Milton Showground Management Committee, is looking forward to a great variety of attractions and events coming up at the Milton Showground.
Rachael says the showground is a great space for the whole community to enjoy, and it’s important to have an interesting variety to appeal to and be of interest to all the local community aswell as attract competitors and visitors from far and wide. Our picturesque showground is a great spot to highlight the diverse activities our area has to offer.
Throughout the year, the many events include exciting equestrian competitions, dog training, croquet, and basketball. Annual events include the Shoalhaven Timber Festival, this year incorporating the Milton Ulladulla Scarecrow Festival; The South Coast Craft Beer Festival on 19 October 2019; The Rotary Club Swap Meet for the bargain hunters; and the Milton Showground Markets are a big hit on the first Saturday of the month with lots of local produce, arts and crafts; a great family day out.
The Milton Show 2020
The main event of the year is the annual Milton Show. Ken Leslie, President of the Milton Show Society says preparations are well under way for the 151st show on 7 March 2020. The 2019 show broke all records of attendance and entries. Ken said it is exciting to see how the community interest is growing each year. Our surveys showed us there were lots of local first timers who were amazed at the huge variety and quality of activities on display. The theme of the show is “Capturing Country Life” which will be highlighting the many special aspect we all enjoy living here. It is important we keep in touch with our history.
