Dinah Mitchell of Woodburn -Founder of Slow Down on the South Coast – Sustainable & Ethical Fashion & Textiles
Dinah Mitchell of Pearl Button Bridal, had the idea for Slow Down as a way of sharing her knowledge in the sustainable sphere and learning from others. “We all need support if we are going to achieve sustainable goals, and this is a very practical way of doing it.”
Recently formed, this is a group of professional designers and interested persons based in Milton Ulladulla to support and promote designers and makers on the South Coast working sustainably and ethically in fashion and textiles. The aim is to build a community within which to share resources and opportunities, and to promote the efforts members are making in the sustainability sphere.
Slow Down will be attending Escape ARTfest Art market at Ulladulla Civic Centre, 10.00am-2.00pm on Saturday 12 October 2019. Members will be happy to talk about their design process, and their passion and commitment to slow fashion and textiles. Unique, handmade products will be available to purchase. Local brands and makers involved include: Samook Designs, slow fashion by Kim Goodworth, Pearl Button Bridal, beautiful wedding dresses made sustainably and ethically by Dinah Mitchell, Willow the Wisp, slow fashion brand by Katrina Flynn, Florinka, hand printed fabric and accessories by Kris Bourke, Display of eco dyed yarn and fabric samples by Judy Richmond, hand-spinner, weaver and eco dyer, and Re-styled cloth bags, pouches and cushions by Kay Munson.
