In times of great need, you will find that there are some local everyday heroes who make life easier.
In the recent case of the corona virus COVID-19 pandemic, it is our supermarket workers, butchers, grocers, bakers, pharmacists, hospital workers, farmers, both produce and meat, and don’t forget the all important truck drivers and even more providers.
Every day they serve the public, providing the community with whatever products they have on their shelves and attempt to make things fair for everyone.
They can barely keep up with the demand, and yet, day after day they come to work. They listen to your concerns, your worries, your questions and they do what they can with what they have in stock.
Without truck drivers, the stores wouldn’t have anything on the shelves, without supermarket workers, butchers, farmers, grocers and bakers, there wouldn’t be anything to eat, without hospital workers, we would all be in serious trouble.
It can be frustrating when you can’t find an item on the shelf, or you’re frightened of being unwell, but remember that these people are trying to help you when they themselves might be scared. Show them respect, courtesy, and kindness.
And maybe even say thank you to our supermarket workers, butchers, grocers, bakers, pharmacists, hospital workers, farmers, both produce and meat, and our awesome truck drivers.
