Damper Bread Recipe

With the threat of quarantine hanging over our heads, it’s inevitable that we start to Google recipes that require less ingredients. Check out this Damper recipe using only a few easy ingredients.


3 cups of self raising flour

Pinch of salt

80 grams of cold cubed butter

3/4 cup of water


Wash your hands!

Preheat Oven to 200oc.

Wash your hands again.

Pop your flour and salt in a large bowl. Wash your hands, then rub the butter into the flour with your fingers until you get a breadcrumb like texture.

Wash your hands.

Add water to the flour mixture and use a butter knife to mix until it just comes together. Add a tablespoon or more of water if its too dry.

Wash your hands, then using the same clean hands, bring the mixture together.

Wash your hands.

Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for a couple of minutes until it’s smooth. Shape in a disc and place on a tray.

Wash your hands.

Dip a sharp knife in flour and mark 8 wedges on top.

Wash your hands.

Dust with extra flour and pop in the oven for 30 minutes. or until it sounds hollow when you tap on the base.

Let cool then eat.
